Talks I want to see at SciPy 2026
Contents
I’m really excited to be one of the co-chairs of the Maintainers track at SciPy 2026. It’s happening July 13-19 2026, and I’d love for you to submit a talk. In particular, I want to list some talks that I wish existed, but don’t right now. There are many people qualified to give these talks, but may not think they are. I know many, many people (including me!) would love to hear them. So submit away.
- How has your relationship as a maintainer to the community changed as you became a parent?
- “I got venture capital to fund my open source project, and this is my experience so far”
- “I left the scientific python community due to burnout, and this is why.”
- “I have been a maintainer in different communities over my life, and this is how the Scientific Python community is different.”
- “My partner is a long term scientific python maintainer, and this is how I see that community”
- “It is 11:30 PM here, and this is how I contribute to the scientific python community” (discussing working across timezones that are far away)
Don’t you wish these some of these talks already existed so you can listen to them? I know I do. So submit a talk and make your (and my) wish come true :)
